Postpone Reopening Of Schools By 3months- House Of Representives Tells Ministry Of Education

The House of Representatives has warned the federal government against their decision to reopen schools on January 18th amid the rapidly growing cases of Coronavirus infection in the country.

The House of Representatives made this know in a statement through its Committee on Basic Education and services.

The chairman of the committee Professor Julius Ihonvbere said the decision to reopen academic activities across the country is coming at a very wrong time seeing that there has been a fast increase in the number of confirmed Coronavirus cases across the country.

Recall that the Ministry of Education had announced that there will be no going back on the January 18th, 2021 resumption date. The Ministry made that announcement to clarify the rumor going around that the reopening of schools has been postponed indefinitely.

But should the Ministry effect what the House of Representatives is saying then academic activities will have to be on hold for 3months which would not be good for students as many of then have been at home for over 9months now.

Are you in support of what the House of Representatives is proposing?

Do you feel Nigeria will ever be fully ready to reopen schools should they postponed it now?

Do you think this will be favourable to students (postponing by 3months)?
